Happy Wanderings
Sharing the loss of your husband with someone who is going through the same thing bridges all gaps and adds great comfort during an incredibly tough time. It’s when getting away for a break and change of scenery can be so important to the healing process.
I was invited to stay with my Aunty Joyce at Metlifecare in Auckland and embarked on a week long journey that took me from the heights of the Sky Tower to the magical Redwood forests in Rotorua. Being caught up in a whirl of activity, all the while being cared for by my wonderful family was just what I needed to take my mind off things.
Fun in the Sun (and Rain)
What do a group of active people all wanting to have some fun do on a not so sunny Auckland day? Head down to the beach for a spot of fishing and outdoor picnic of course!
There we were, early one January morning, ready for our Metlifecare photo-shoot on the beach with a few of our fellow Pinesong residents. With lots of cheeky humour, laughter and great company we quickly realized that it doesn’t matter what your age or background, getting together with fellow Metlifecare residents makes for a great day out!
