Facilities and Amenities

Powley has one or two features that set it apart from many retirement villages, one is the beautiful chapel built when the village was once owned by the Christian Trust. The chapel is a tranquil place well-loved and freely visited by our residents and staff. There are services for Catholic, Anglican, Church of the Saviour and Inter-Denominational faiths.

Outdoor facilities include a barbeque area and petanque terrain or you can take a spa, but, in general, our indoor facilities and activities are more popular. You can have a game of cards, Bingo, Mahjong or Scrabble, we have a book club and play classical music on Mondays. We also play movies for all to enjoy and have a happy hour every Friday.

The village bus runs trips to interesting spots like Matakana and often dine out at an RSA.

The beauty of independent living is that the options are there, but you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. You may prefer to  put your feet up at home – it’s your choice.
