Our service packages are tailor-made to suit your needs – we take the time to sit down and talk you through all the options available to work out what is right for you.
If you qualify for government assistance to pay for care, you can still apply for it while living at Metlifecare Highlands.
Taking time to understand your needs means we can deliver an independent retirement lifestyle that suits you now and into the future, and there is seldom any need to move.
Household services
If you no longer wish to do household chores, laundry or make your own meals, you can obtain these services no matter what accommodation you have chosen to live in.
Nursing services
Should you require nursing services, we can provide them in your home. We have the experience to ensure that you maintain your independence for as long as possible in your own home.
Rest Home & Hospital Care
Our care facilities offer 24 hour nursing care in a safe and comfortable environment. They are close to our other accommodations, so partners can visit easily. A nurse manager and a team of trained staff care for you with dignity and respect. We are also mindful of the personal, spiritual, social and cultural needs of our residents.
Staff checks
If you are convalescing at home, or just in need of some extra reassurance, our staff will visit you each day, or as agreed, to make sure you are feeling okay. Our experienced staff are on site 24/7 and close by for added security and assistance should you need it. We believe caring for you in this way brings peace of mind for you and your family.
Health professionals’ visits
You have access to a visiting GP, a fortnightly podiatry service, and a village chaplain who has been looking after spiritual health for over 14 years at Highlands.
Credentials
- Our village is a member of the Retirement Village Association, and all our non-regulated care workers (such as care givers) have access to Aged Care Education training programmes, which ensures they are up-to-date with the latest developments in the aged care sector.
- All our nursing staff are registered as per requirements of NZ Nursing Council to deliver the best possible service to our residents.
- All our rest homes and hospitals (also referred to as care facilities) have a Certificate of Compliance from the Ministry of Health ensuring we comply with their high standards of service.
- Metlifecare also has contracts with the local district health boards to provide the best care for our residents
