Star Trekker: Ann Frank
Ann Frank, amazing Nurse Manager from Longford Park Village has been trekking across New Zealand for the last thirteen years, contributing to the fundraising efforts of the Great New Zealand Trek Charitable Trust. The aim of the trek is to cover the length of New Zealand whilst fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis.
This year marks the final year of the trek in which Ann and her fellow trekkers finally complete the full distance. So far the efforts of the charitable trust have raised $389,000!
Sometimes I question my sanity, but the feeling of achievement is worth it when the finish is in sight.”

Ann sets off again for the final push this weekend, heading to Tapanui where the final instalment of the trek begins this year.
Walking between 21km and 37kms every day, Ann says she sometimes “questions her sanity, but the feeling of achievement is worth it when the finish is in sight.”
As Ann says, “living with MS requires perseverance, courage and all the determination that us trekkers require to get to the end of each day and then turn round and do it all the next day. The difference being that we only have to cope for five days. The human spirit never ceases to amaze me”
