We are proud to launch a new wellness programme, Your Best You, at our Greenwich Gardens village.
Developed in conjunction with AUT, the programme embodies Metlifecare’s commitment to the overall wellbeing of our residents and is based on the premise that our overall wellbeing is not just about being physically active, but in fact has six dimensions – physical, social, emotional, vocational, intellectual and spiritual. The programme offers an extensive suite of activities within these six dimensions, giving residents incredible choice and variety, and enabling them to discover true, holistic wellbeing. We look forward to rolling out Your Best You across all of our villages through 2019.
Your Best You came alive at Metlifecare’s Greenwich Gardens village, on Auckland’s North Shore, with legendary All Black Buck Shelford as our champion and role model.
An ardent proponent of proactive health choices, Buck participated alongside residents as together they worked to discover the best versions of themselves. Recording his own progress via videos diaries over a four week period, he experienced everything from Aqua Zumba to Mah Jong. Every part of him felt re-energised after a month of Your Best You activities!
Follow Buck’s journey below, week by week, as he experiences Your Best You.
What is holistic wellness? It’s not just about diet and exercise – it’s also about ensuring you are fulfilled emotionally, spiritually, occupationally, intellectually and socially. The extensive suite of activities on offer here at Metlifecare covers all those wellness needs. Our new programme simply makes it easier for you to get involved, as much or as little as you want, and on the path to discovering Your Best You!

Buck had a bit of fun with the team on TV3’s The Project, telling them all about Your Best You – and putting Jeremy Corbett through his “down and up” paces!
