New Metlifecare advertising campaign
At Metlifecare we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by inspiring older people living their best lives with energy and enthusiasm.
Our residents tell us they sometimes get frustrated by the perception that a move to a retirement village can be perceived by some as ‘giving up’ or a loss of independence, when nothing could be further from the truth.
We know first-hand not to write our residents off! Inspired by people in Metlifecare villages living their best lives, our new campaign reflects what they tell us. That there is so much to look forward to about getting older, especially when supported within a village that feels like home, with facilities and amenities that help them live life to the full, alongside a community which shares the same lifestyle expectations.
Never Stop
In each of our scenes, we hear our characters say a number that, at first, we think could be their age, addressing widely-held beliefs that they may see this as a negative. We then turn this notion on its head, challenging stereotypes when we realise the age is just a number and not relevant at all to our heroes proudly living their lives to the fullest.
In the gym, the kitchen and on the ocean, in workshops, craft rooms, bustling cafés and tranquil gardens, in modern apartments and stylish villas across New Zealand, our Metlifecare residents never stop living life on their terms.
In the kitchen
We think the main character in this ad is worried about turning 80, when in fact Nana is helping her granddaughter measure out ingredients to decorate a beautiful birthday cake.
It's not just residents, but their families that we want to welcome into Metlifecare retirement villages.
In the GYM
What starts as a gritty close up of our resident in the gym becomes a story about keeping fit and healthy, with a dose of camaraderie and mateship thrown in for good measure - just the sort of thing we see every day in our Metlifecare villages.
On the boat
We see our fishing enthusiasts out on the water and quickly understand that rather than focus on age, they are focused on catching a 'keeper' to take home for dinner. Some friendly banter provides a great insight into the sort of friendships we see every day in Metlifecare retirement villages.
