A recipe from our friends at Love Food Hate Waste
If you love wontons or dumplings, try these delicious little treats using just one portion of leftovers. We think they are better than take-aways!
Ingredients
- 250 - 300g leftovers - try curry, roast meat and sauce, tofu and gravy or roast vegetables.
- 1 Tbs fresh herbs, finely chopped
- 1 x 24 pack wonton, dumpling or gyoza wrappers
- 1/4 Cup water
Method
- Either finely chop or blend your leftovers. The finer you chop them, the easier it is to create your wontons.
- Take a wonton wrapper, place on the bench or flat chopping board. Pop a small spoonful of leftover mixture in the centre.
- Using your finger, gently dab around the edges and as close to the filling as you can with a little water.
- Bring together into a semi-circle and squeeze the edges together to seal.
- Continue until you've used up all your filling.
- Either drop the wonton into a bubbling broth of soup and top with freshly chopped herbs, or steam, pan or air-fry.
Note – these can also be frozen.
