Even for the most able retiree, there comes a time when help is needed with the basics of day-to-day living. Family members often step in to provide support, however there is always a limit to how much time can be committed and the level of care they can provide. This is where serviced apartment living can provide the ideal answer.
We can provide a whole host of services, 24-hour support and a quality of life that you or your loved ones truly deserve. While you may be at a stage where you need a higher level of care, you can keep the spirit of independence, while your family can rest assured that you are always in safe hands and in good company. SERVICED APARTMENTS FOR ASSISTED LIVING
Our purpose-built one-bedroom serviced apartments have a kitchenette and bathroom, and offer continued independence with support services tailored to your personal needs. We can even provide you with full rest home level care from the comfort of home.
Just like home
If the time comes that you or your loved one needs 24 hour care, rest assured you are in the right place. Our 41-bed care facility offers both rest home and hospital level care. Cosy, welcoming and friendly, it’s designed to feel just like home.
Located on the first floor, many of the rooms have superb views over our much-admired rose gardens, or across the bowling green towards Lloyd Elsmore Park. Better still, some have balconies, providing direct access to the outdoors (a real luxury in a care home). And because we are just a stone’s throw from our other village accommodation, Highlands offers the perfect solution for couples. Even if your individual needs change, you’ll still be able to stay close by.
Highlands care home also offers ACC rehabilitation, short-term care (including convalescence) and POAC (Primary Options for Acute Care). What’s more, palliative care is part of our culture. Our excellent palliative care programme runs from admission through until end of life, and includes individual palliative care plans for every resident, plus the services of a specialist palliative care nurse who works closely with Totara Hospice. Highlands residents are in the best possible hands!

That means you’ll get to live life your way, in an environment that supports your independence and encourages you to keep doing the things you love. We work closely with residents and their families to give people the best quality of life possible, every step of the journey.
Great care comes from great people
The quality of care home staff plays a major role in the quality of life care home residents enjoy. That’s why Highlands staff are among the best in their field. We handpick them not only for their expertise and experience, but for their compassion – and passion – for what they do. For them, treating people with dignity and respect comes naturally. It comes from the heart.
