Even for the most able retiree, there comes a time when help is needed with the basics of day-to-day living. Family members often step in to provide support, however there is always a limit to how much time can be committed and the level of care they can provide. This is where Serviced Apartment living at can provide the ideal answer.
We can provide a whole host of services, 24-hour support and a quality of life that you or your loved ones truly deserve. While you may be at a stage where you need a higher level of care, you can keep the spirit of independence, while your family can rest assured that you are always in safe hands and in good company. SERVICED APARTMENT FOR ASSISTED LIVING
Our purpose-built apartments have a kitchenette and bathroom, offering continued independence with support services tailored to your personal needs.
Care home with rest home & hospital on-site
We advocate ‘resident directed care’ where the care is led by our resident’s choices with an emphasis on providing quality of life.
For a greater daily support we offer a full continuum of care with a 12-bed rest home and a 29-bed residential hospital on-site. Both offer 24-hour care and provide a safe, comfortable environment – all while being close to our other accommodations, so partners can visit easily.

Great care comes from great people.
At Highlands we pride ourselves on the quality of our staff because they make such a big difference to how your loved ones live. We look for staff with the right skills and relevant hands-on experience, but there is more to it than that. This job is about relationships and earning trust, so we handpick staff who care deeply about our residents. For them, treating people with dignity and respect comes naturally – it comes from the heart.
In this care home, the accommodation supplement pricing ranges from a minimum of $5.51 to a maximum of $25 per day. This pricing covers additional comforts and facilities over and above the standard provision for residential care.
Our care home is certified and audited to provide safe and appropriate care for our residents with Ministry of Health Audit reports available here.
We have the skills and experience.
- Highlands is a member of the Retirement Village Association
- All our nursing staff are registered with the NZ Nursing Council and hold a current Practising Certificate
- All our non-regulated care workers have access to Aged Care Education training programmes
Independent living. Choose the home that suits your lifestyle.
Highlands has a range of accommodation choices that allow for completely independent living through to service apartments. This gives couples the chance to stay close should their needs be different.
Our one and two-bedroom villas on one level come with fresh interiors and lovely gardens. Two-storey, two-bedroom (plus study) villas, also with wonderful décor, fittings and appliances, are set on manicured sections.
All villas are easy walking distance to community facilities with plenty of activities to take part in.
While you remain responsible for your own household tasks and meals, we take care of all the outdoor maintenance. If you would like more help, we offer a range of service and care packages delivered to you in your home.
If you require assisted living options we also have a choice of high quality serviced apartments – designed for people who value their independence but enjoy having easy access to additional care and support services, a rest home and a hospital on-site.
