“Refer a friend – reward your village” promotion full terms and conditions

These terms apply to the “Refer a friend – reward your village” promotion (the Promotion). Entry into the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms.

  1. The promoter is Metlifecare Limited of Level 4, 110 Carlton Gore Street, Newmarket, Auckland (Metlifecare).
  2. The Promotion applies to referrals of potential new residents (Referred Residents) to any Metlifecare Village (excluding Metlifecare Palmerston North Village) (each, a Participating Village) by existing residents of a Participating Village (Referrers).
  3. The promotion is open to new residents applying for an Occupation Right Agreement in respect of a villa or an apartment at a Participating Village (Participating Unit).
  4. The Promotion commences on 12 January 2026 and closes on 30 September 2026 (the Promotional Period).
  5. To participate, the Referrer must complete a referral form for the Referred Resident and submit it to the Village Sales Executive within the Promotional Period. The referral form must be submitted before Metlifecare receives a completed application form for the Referred Resident.
  6. A Referred Resident who has been referred to Metlifecare previously may still qualify, provided a new referral form is submitted during the Promotional Period.
  7. Before submitting a referral form, the Referrer must ensure the Referred Resident is aware of the referral and consents to Metlifecare receiving the personal information and contacting them. The Referred Resident’s personal information will be used in accordance with Metlifecare’s Privacy Policy
  8. For the purposes of these terms, ‘Reward’ means the incentives payable under this Promotion, being:
    a) NZD $1,000 to be paid to the Referrer’s nominated bank account on the 25th day of the month following the month in which the Commencement Date of the Referred Resident’s Occupation Right Agreement falls;
    b) NZD $1,000 to be paid to the Referred Resident’s nominated bank account on the 25th day of the month following the month in which the Commencement Date of the Referred Resident’s Occupation Right Agreement falls; and
    c) NZD $500 to be allocated towards the Referrer’s village within 10 business days following the end of the Promotional Period, as follows:
    (i) If the Referrer’s Village has a Residents’ Committee: NZD $500 will be paid to the Residents’ Committee’s nominated bank account.
    (ii) If the Referrer’s Village does not have a Residents’ Committee: a Prezzy card valued at NZD $500 will be provided to the Village Manager, to allocate on behalf of the Residents. 
  9. For each party to qualify for the relevant Reward:
    a) The Referrer must complete a referral form for the Referred Resident and submit it to the Village Sales Executive within the Promotional Period. The referral form must be submitted before Metlifecare receives a completed application form for the Referred Resident.
    b) The Referred Resident must:
    (i) Submit a completed and signed application form for a Participating Unit during the Promotional Period;
    (ii) Enter into an Occupation Right Agreement for a Participating Unit;
    (iii) Ensure that the Commencement Date under the Occupation Right Agreement occurs on or before 30 September 2026; and
    (iv) Pay the Capital Sum in full on or by the Commencement Date of the Occupation Right Agreement.
  10. No Reward will be issued if the Referred Resident’s Occupation Right Agreement is cancelled or terminated before the Reward is issued.
  11. If the Referred Resident cancels the Occupation Right Agreement during the cooling-off period or under the 90-day Money Back Guarantee, we may deduct the Reward from any refund payable to the Referrer and/or the Referred Resident under the respective Occupation Right Agreement.
  12. Only one referral form per Referred Resident will be recognised (the first received by Metlifecare during the Promotional Period).
  13. As the Promotion requires entry into and settlement of an ORA, our usual resident criteria apply (including satisfaction of any medical conditions).
  14. For the avoidance of doubt, this Promotion does not apply to a referral to a care home within the Participating Village.
  15. Otherwise stated or agreed by us, the Promotion cannot be used in connection with any other discount, offer or promotion.
  16. Metlifecare reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and/or extend, suspend or terminate the Promotion at any time and without giving reasons.

Our Privacy Policy (available at https://www.metlifecare.co.nz/privacy-policy/) shall apply to any personal information you submit to us in connection with the Promotion and is incorporated into these terms and conditions.
