Crafty legacy of giving

There was a lot of pride and celebration at Kāpiti Village recently when the village’s talented Card Makers and Craft Groups presented Wellington Free Ambulance with a cheque for an incredible $8,000.

The donation marks another milestone in a remarkable fundraising journey spanning more than two decades. Since 2004, the dedicated groups have raised approximately $100,000 for Wellington Free Ambulance – a testament to the generosity, creativity and commitment of Kāpiti Village residents.

The Craft Group was established in 2004 and was led for many years by resident Jeanette Murphy, whose passion and dedication helped shape the group into what it is today. The Card Makers Group, led by Geraldine Sellens, continues to create beautiful handmade cards.

The decision to support Wellington Free Ambulance was an easy one. As a regular presence in the village, often attending residents when needed, the service holds a special place in the hearts of many.
