Location

Forest Lake Gardens is at 2 Minogue Drive, Te Rapa, on the northern edge of Hamilton. The village sits alongside Te Rapa Racecourse in a quiet residential part of Te Rapa, just off Te Rapa Road.

The Base, one of New Zealand's largest shopping centres, is in Te Rapa and a short drive from the village. It spans over 87,000 square metres of retail, with more than 190 stores including supermarkets, department stores, major retailers, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, and a wide range of speciality shops. New World Te Rapa also provides local grocery shopping in the immediate area.

Tui Medical at 26 Bryant Road, Te Rapa, offers GP services and urgent care, and is the nearest general practice clinic to the village.

Hamilton has a strong range of cultural, recreational, and natural attractions a short drive from the village. Hamilton Gardens, Waikato Museum, and Hamilton Lake are well-established destinations to the south. The surrounding Waikato countryside — including the Hakarimata Range, the Waikato River, and the coast at Raglan — provides easy options for day trips and leisure.

The village is accessible by car via Te Rapa Road, one of Hamilton's main arterial routes, which connects north to SH1 and south into the city centre. Visitor parking is available on site. Waikato Regional Council bus services run through Te Rapa and connect to Hamilton's city centre and surrounding suburbs.
