Location

Kāpiti Village is at 1 Henley Way, Paraparaumu 5032 on the Kāpiti Coast, about 50 kilometres north of Wellington.

The main town on the Kāpiti Coast is well-serviced and connected, with a pace that suits retirement living. Coastlands Shopping Centre, right in town, is the region's main retail hub with more than 100 stores. Paraparaumu Beach, a short drive west, has the feel of a classic New Zealand seaside village. Wellington is 50 minutes by train.

Coastlands Shopping Centre is the day-to-day hub: supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés, restaurants, and a wide range of retail, all in one place. Paraparaumu Beach has boutique shops, cafés, and a Saturday morning farmers' market. For everyday needs, there is no reason to go further.

Paraparaumu Medical Centre on Ihakara Street provides general practice care for the local area. Team Medical, at Coastlands, has urgent care open seven days a week from 8am to 10pm. Kāpiti Health Centre provides hospital-level services for the region.

Kāpiti Island, one of New Zealand's most significant island bird sanctuaries, is visible from Paraparaumu Beach and accessible by authorised boat from there. Queen Elizabeth Park covers 650 hectares of coastal dunes and beach. The Southward Car Museum, a few minutes north, holds one of the largest private vehicle collections in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Kāpiti Line runs from Paraparaumu station to Wellington every 20 minutes during the day, with the journey taking around 50 minutes. By road, State Highway 1 is the direct route north and south. The combination of train access and a well-serviced local town means residents and visitors are rarely without options.
